Alteo is looking for a System Administrator for a permanent position located in Montreal (Downtown). The job is 100% on site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and maintain high-performance computing environments for VR/AR, VFX, animation, and games.
- Manage NAS storage, backup/disaster recovery, and high-speed network infrastructure.
- Support production tools such as Maya, Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, and Nuke.
- Automate workflows with Python and collaborate closely with production and development teams.
- Implement security controls to protect company systems, project data, and valuable intellectual property.
Profile:
- DEC/BAC in IT or equivalent
- 3-5+ years of experience as System Admin
- Proven IT leadership experience, ideally within VFX, games, film, or digital-production environments.
- Strong experience with Linux, MACOS, Windows, HPC, servers, networking, NAS/storage, backup/DR, and cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
- Hands-on IT security expertise, including identity and access management, network and endpoint security, IP/data protection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and vendor-management skills.
